Scholastic Tournament Blog: 2019 New Year’s Fray

By Tony Chen, Scholastic Coordinator

On Sunday, January 20, the Saint Louis Chess Club hosted its New Year’s Fray scholastic chess tournament. It was the 4th tournament of the Grand Prix series and the first tournament of 2019. Despite the snowy weather and freezing temperatures, 201 players braved the elements and gathered at Cook Hall on the SLU campus once again to see who would come out on top. After 4 rounds, the winners were determined below.

The Saint Louis Chess Club would like to thank all the players, parents, coaches, and community partners that make our monthly tournaments a success. Please join us next month for our February tournament, Chess Carnival, on Saturday, February 9 at Parkway Southwest Middle School.
