Scholastic Tournament Blog: Mayhem in May Recap

The CCSCSL scholastic tournament series headed to West County this past Saturday for our Mayhem in May event at Christian Brothers College High School. Ninety-five young contestants braved thunderstorms to battle it out on the chessboards. This attendance number is doubly impressive considering it was finals week for many area schools.

Scholastic Tournament Blog: Spring Fever Chess Tournament

This past Sunday, scholastic chess returned to Saint Louis University with the 2017 Spring Fever Tournament. As word has spread about our tournaments, new players and teams have continued to sign up and compete. With such wonderful weather and a great location, the tournament was able to draw 135 students to participate in both the K-6 and K-12 sections.

Scholastic Tournament Blog: Chess Carnival

On Sunday, February 26, Scholastics held the 2017 Chess Carnival at Webster Groves High School. This was our first tournament with a middle and high school section and the number of participants swelled to 185 players. The four-round tournament featured a lot of fighting chess, as only those with perfect records and good tiebreaks were likely to take home top trophies.

Four-move Fireworks in October Kids' Beginners Tournament

On Sunday, October 20, as the up-and-coming Saint Louis Rams were busy defeating the reigning World Champion Seattle Seahawks, 18 new pawn pushers also believed anything was possible as they began their quest to chess superstardom.
