A scholastic chess tournament!

Format:

  • Open to students enrolled in elementary, middle or high school in Fall 2019

  • 5 rounds | G/30 

  • 4 rounds | G/45 for K-12 Open section only

  • Five sections: K-3 Open, K-6 Open, K-6 U500, K-12 Open, and K-12 U1000

Registration:

  • Reg: 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Players arriving after 9:45 might have to miss round 1.

  • One ½ point bye available if declared before round 1.

  • EF: $5 for existing USCF members if pre-registered 48 hours in advance, $10 at the door

  • Free for new USCF members

  • FREE 1-year USCF membership to all new elementary and middle school students

  • Free entry if you/your child attends a school (not charter or independent unless listed in the 2nd group) in one of the following districts*:

    • Saint Louis Public

    • Ferguson/Florissant Public

    • Jennings Public

  • Or one of the following schools:

    • Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls,

    • Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School

    • St. Vincent Home

  • Please contact Scholastics@SaintLouisChessClub.org to find out your discount code and enter the code at checkout.

Rounds:

  • 5 rounds at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m., 3:15 

    • Lunch 1:30 - 2 p.m.

  • 4 rounds for K-12 Open only at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m.

    • Lunch 1 - 1:30 p.m.

  • Award ceremony to follow final round (around 4:30 p.m.)

Prizes:

  • Individual and team prizes will be provided for both rated and unrated sections.

*Free entry for these schools and school districts generously provided by Emerson, Ascension, Horncrest Foundation, Lesley A. Waldheim Charitable Foundation, and Graybar Foundation.
