Halloween Havoc

Enjoy some spirited fun in a rated chess tournament! Open to students enrolled in Elementary or Middle School in Fall 2016.

Format:

Dress up as your favorite Superhero and compete in a rated Chess tournament!
One section: 4 Rounds, G/30
One ½ point bye available if declared before round 1

On-Site Registration & Check-In:

10-10:45 a.m.

$2 for existing USCF members if pre-registered by 10/28, $10 at the door. Free for new USCF members.
Pre-registration online, payment made at the door
Open to students enrolled in Elementary or Middle School.
FREE 1-year USCF Membership to all new elementary and middle school students.
Everyone that is pre-registered by 10/28 is entered into a raffle for fun prizes.

Rounds:

Rounds at 11:00 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3:00 p.m.
Award Ceremony to follow final round.

Prizes:

Trophies for 1st - 5th place, top under 600, top under 400, top 5 unrated players and top girl.
Winner of 1st Place trophy also receives a free membership to the CCSCSL and one free Grandmaster lesson.
Trophies for top 3 teams. (Top 4 players contribute to Team Score).*

* Team trophies are school-based (e.g. Jefferson Elementary SLPS) or organization-based (e.g. Boy Scout Troop 000, YMCA Sublette Ave). Teams must have at least four players to be eligible for prizes. Please be sure to register your team, school or organization name when you sign up.

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.

POLICY ON RELATIONSHIPS AND INTERACTIONS WITH MINORS

The integrity of Saint Louis Chess Club’s relationship with minor players is paramount to the Chess Club’s educational mission and success. All individuals employed by or working under the direction or authority of the Saint Louis Chess Club are expected and required to maintain appropriate boundaries and relationships with minors (individuals under the age of 18 years) and are strictly prohibited from engaging in sexual misconduct, hazing and harassment.
