Chess Carnival

A scholastic chess tournament at Webster Groves High School. Entrance and Free Parking on E. Bradford St. off of Big Bend Blvd and Selma Ave. Chess Van will be parked in front of entrance.

Format:

Open to students enrolled in elementary, middle school, or high school in spring 2016
4 rounds | G/30 | Two sections: Elementary (K-6) & Middle/High School (K-12)

Registration:

Reg: 10 - 10:45 a.m.
EF: $2 for existing USCF members if pre-registered by 2/24, $10 at the door
Free for new USCF members
FREE 1-year USCF membership to all new students
Everyone that is pre-registered by 2/24 is entered into a raflle for fun prizes!
If you/your child attends a school (not charter or independent unless listed in the 2nd group) in one of the following districts*:
- Saint Louis Public
- Ferguson/Florissant Public
- Jennings Public
- Normandy Schools Collaborative
- University City Public
Or one of the following schools:
- Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls,
- Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School
- St. Vincent Home
- Webster Groves High School

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.

POLICY ON RELATIONSHIPS AND INTERACTIONS WITH MINORS

The integrity of Saint Louis Chess Club’s relationship with minor players is paramount to the Chess Club’s educational mission and success. All individuals employed by or working under the direction or authority of the Saint Louis Chess Club are expected and required to maintain appropriate boundaries and relationships with minors (individuals under the age of 18 years) and are strictly prohibited from engaging in sexual misconduct, hazing and harassment.
