A scholastic chess tournament at SLU: Center for Global Citizenship. (Easiest access via Laclede). Metered on-street parking is available on Lindell and Spring. There are also 100 free parking spots available first-come, first-serve at the Laclede Garage at 3642 Laclede.

Format:

  • Open to students enrolled in elementary, middle or high school in fall 2017
  • 4 rounds | G/30 |
  • Four sections: K-6, U400; K-6, Open; K-12, U1000; K-12 Open 

Registration:

  • Reg: 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Players arriving after 10:45 might have to miss round 1. 

  • One ½ point bye available if declared before round 1.

  • EF: $5 for existing USCF members if pre-registered by 11/17, $10 at the door

  • Free for new USCF members

  • FREE 1-year USCF membership to all new elementary and middle school students

  • Free entry if you/your child attends a school (not charter or independent unless listed in the 2nd group) in one of the following districts*:

    • Saint Louis Public

    • Ferguson/Florissant Public

    • Jennings Public

  • Or one of the following schools:

    • Hawthorn Leadership School for Girls,

    • Sister Thea Bowman Catholic School 

    • St. Vincent Home 

  • Please contact Scholastics@SaintLouisChessClub.org to find out your discount code and enter the code at checkout. 

Rounds:

  • 4 rounds at 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1:45 p.m., 3 p.m.
  • Award ceremony to follow final round

Prizes:

  • Individual and team prizes will be provided for both rated and unrated sections.
