Saint Louis Chess Club
The 2025 Champions Showdown: Chess9LX returns with another exciting edition featuring top players from the United States. Fighting for a total prize fund of $150,000, the participants will each face off once during nine rounds of rapid Chess 960, also known as Fischer Random Chess, where all of the back-rank pieces are randomized.
The event kicks off with Ultimate Moves, a fun exhibition event featuring Saint Louis Chess Club co-founder Rex Sinquefield as well as the rest of the Champions Showdown: Chess9LX field, participating in a high-stakes team blitz match.
Follow all the action as it happens by watching our professional commentary team led by Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan on the Saint Louis Chess Club’s Youtube and Twitch channels.
For spectators in Saint Louis, follow the tournaments round by round with our Grandmaster in Residence as they analyze the rounds daily. Live commentary is open to all members and guests and includes complimentary snacks and beverages.
