James has made some long lasting memories at the Chess Club. His favorite by far is how the associates caught onto his phrase, ‘the hurt move is in effect’. The chess highlight of his life was when James played two members over a 2000 rating and beating both, adding 130 points to his old score.
When asked why James love the game so much, replied, “Chess is a game that can compliment everyone even if you are not a competitive person, chess is a good game to pass the time. It can be very relaxing and it really helps with cognitive exercises and helps engage mental abilities.” Playing chess has helped his personal life by exercising his competitive skills and his cognitive abilities.
Since being a member of the Chess Club, James has a few ideas for programming. He would like to see a grudge match against any two players, and to keep the Club open later so that members can stay later.
