Now Hiring: Part-Time Instructor

The Saint Louis Chess Club (SLCC) is seeking a motivated individual to teach chess in local schools, boys' and girls' clubs, and other educational settings, for up to ten hours per week. Make a difference in the lives of kids, while teaching a game you enjoy. This is a great opportunity for students or anyone with free time in the afternoons. 

The SLCC is an educational non-profit organization located in the Central West End. The mission of the SLCC is to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess, and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships, in an effort to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.

 

Whether on the Chess Campus or in hundreds of area school classrooms each week, the SLCC provides members and guests with opportunities to learn, play, and enjoy the game of chess. The SLCC hosts major national and international events, provides weekly classes, lectures, tournaments and other events designed to increase the popularity of the game 7 days per week.

 

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports to Scholastic Manager

Requirements

  • Basic Chess Knowledge
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Must consent to background check
  • Must enjoy working with children

Compensation

  • Part-time Instructors earn $20-$30 an hour
