Student chess players in action

This three‑day Scholastic Chess event features three sections for K‑12 students:
a 6‑round K‑12 Championship, a 6‑round K‑6 Championship, and a 9‑round Friday Blitz Championship.
All sections are US Chess–rated, giving every student an official national rating.

This is the second tournament in our four‑event Summer Scholastic Series.

Join us July 11‑13, 2025 at Il Monastero, Saint Louis University for an exciting weekend of chess competition.

🏆 K‑12 Championship

  • Who: Experienced tournament players in grades K‑12
  • Format: 6‑round Swiss
  • Time Control: G/26 + 5‑second increment
  • Round Times: Saturday & Sunday — 11:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:45 PM

🏆 K‑6 Championship

  • Who: Elementary players (grades K‑6) newer to over‑the‑board play

Choosing the Right Tournament

  • K‑12 Championship: strongest competition; for experienced players in grades K‑12.
  • K‑6 Championship: friendly OTB experience for grades K‑6 newer to tournaments.
  • Blitz Championship: open to all grades PreK‑12 who enjoy fast chess.
