Megan Paragua

FIDE Master Megan Paragua of New York City has won numerous youth-based titles including the Pan American Youth Girls under 12 Championship and the US All Girls under 18 title. She is the reigning 2024 World Cadet Rapid and Blitz Champion in the Girls Under 12 category, but the result that really put Megan on the map was her performance in the Grenke Open this past spring. Competing in one of the toughest open tournaments in Europe she had a 2506 FIDE rating performance through the first seven rounds, defeating two International Masters. Though she lost in the last two rounds she still picked up 79 FIDE rating points.

Currently rated number forty-six in the world on the Girls under 21 FIDE rating list, Megan will be making her debut in the U.S. Women’s Championship.
