About Me

I’ve always enjoyed a variety of strategy and board games, and chess is no exception. While my tournament playing days were while I was much younger, I’ve kept a strong interest in the game throughout the years, and enjoy it more now as a casual activity and as an opportunity to educate others.

Good Student Match:

Students starting with the basics and looking to gain the skills to play casual chess.

 

Playing Experience:

Entered USCF tournaments as a kid, was a member of a chess club in middle school and college.

Teaching Method:

Once we’ve gone over the basics of chess, I prefer interactivity in my lessons, usually involving slowly playing through a game and analyzing what is and isn’t a good strategy.

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.
