Biography

Women’s International Master Chloe Gaw of New York City returns to St. Louis for her third U.S. Junior Girls Championship. Chloe has started off strong in 2026 having gained over 100 FIDE rating points so far to raise her FIDE rating to 2234, placing her number 49 in the world among girls under 21.

A gold medalist in the Under 14 section of the 2023 Pan American Youth Girls Under 14 Championship, Chloe also won the Under 14 section of the Kasparov Chess Foundation’s All-Girls Championship the same year. She was second in the Under 16 division of the Kasparov Chess Foundation’s All-Girls Championship in 2025.

A student at the Chapin School, Chloe works as a tutor for NYC Chess Connections. She defeated Grandmaster Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, the seventh highest rated player of all time, in a simul when she was eleven.
