The Saint Louis Chess Club Corporate Chess League is an opportunity to bring together companies and individuals in a way that is competitive and fun! It’s a great way to engage with your colleagues and network with a larger community through the game of chess.
The Saint Louis Corporate Chess League is a premier team-based competition uniting companies from across the region. Each corporation is represented by a four-employee squad in matches held every other Thursday. The Spring season features five regular-season events, culminating in a Final Four playoff where the top-scoring teams battle for the championship title. All games are played at a Rapid Time Control of G/10 (10 minutes per player, per game).
Events begin promptly at 6:00 PM and consist of three rounds. In each round, corporations are paired head-to-head.
Match points are awarded based on the overall team result:
To determine the season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), individual performances are also tracked:
$400 per Company
The league fee covers participation (four boards per match) for Sessions I and II. Food and drinks are provided each match. Teams are welcome to bring additional players, who will compete in a separate division with points recorded independent of the main session results — there is no additional fee for extra players. Payment is due prior to Match 1.
Please email Ryan Chester with your roster by 12:00 PM on the Wednesday of match week. A weekly recap will be provided during the weeks between matches.
All events are held at the Saint Louis Chess Club, the premier chess facility in the country and one of the best in the world. Our 30,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art chess center features a world-class tournament hall, classroom, library, and casual play area.
