Scholastic Tournament Blog: 2019 Chess Carnival

On Saturday, February 9th, the Saint Louis Chess Club hosted its Chess Carnival scholastic chess tournament. It was the 5th tournament of the Grand Prix series and the first tournament held in the Parkway School District. Even during a nice and sunny day, 182 players gathered at Parkway Southwest Middle to see who would reign supreme. After 4 rounds, the winners were determined below.

The Saint Louis Chess Club would like to thank all the players, parents, coaches, and community partners that make our monthly tournaments a success. Please join us next month for our March tournament, March Madness, which will be on Saturday, March 9 at SLU – Cook Hall.

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.
