Biography

Alina Kashlinskaya is a Russian-born International Master and European Women’s Individual Chess Champion of 2019. Kashlinskaya has earned several individual and team medals across her career, including a silver medal at the European Youth Chess Championships in 2003, an individual silver medal as a representative of Russia in the Khanty-Mansiysk Olympiad in 2010, a silver medal in the World Youth Chess Championships in 2011, as well as winning the 2013 Russian Junior Girls’ Championship. Notably, Kashlinskaya also participated in the fifth “Snowdrops vs. Old Hands” Czech Coal Match in 2013, during which she achieved the highest score overall in the event. In 2019, Kashlinskaya won the European Women’s Individual Championship. More recently in 2022 Kashlinskaya switched federations to Poland, later winning the Polish Women’s Chess Championship in 2024, as well as the Tbilisi FIDE Women’s Grand Prix, securing her first Grandmaster norm. 2025 will be Kashlinskaya’s first appearance at the Cairns Cup.
