Biography

International Master Evan Park of Pittsburgh earned his spot in this year’s event by winning the U.S. Junior Open for the second year in a row. Evan, who is the President of Global Outreach for the philanthropic group, Chess Through Challenges, has been a member of the U.S. Chess All-America Team every year since 2019. 

Evan made his first Grandmaster norm in the 2024 U.S. Masters in Charlotte, North Carolina, defeating GMs Brandon Jacobsen, Emilio Cordova and Viktor Matviishen in consecutive rounds enroute to a rating performance over 2700 FIDE. More recently he scored a solid 5 from 9 in the 2026 St. Louis Masters this past February.

This will be Evan’s second time competing in the U.S. Junior Championship.
