Sandeep Sethuraman

International Master Sandeep Sethuraman grew up in Arizona but is now a student at Stanford University. This past January he played for the Cardinal’s Pan American Intercollegiate team alongside Grandmasters Semyon Lomasov and Brycle Tiglon and International Master Carissa Yip. The winner of the 2024 Grandmaster Arnold Denker National Tournament of High School State Champions, Sandeep is a 4-time National Champion, 4-time All-American Team Member and has been selected 10 times for Team USA Chess. He has competed at World Youth 3 times. Sandeep, whose younger brother Roshan is a national master, founded The Chess Effect, a non-profit aimed at making chess instruction accessible to all.
