Welcome to our 2025 Weekly Programming! Whether you’re new to chess or a seasoned player, we offer a variety of classes, events, and tournaments designed to help you learn, improve, and have fun.

Monday
Kickstart your chess journey in a friendly, no-pressure environment.
Beginners Night! – 5:30-8:00 PM
Looking to try out chess in a welcoming, judgment-free environment? Come learn and play with other beginners! Led by our friendly and experienced instructors, Beginners Night offers an engaging and social setting to both learn the rules and practice against other casual players. .
Tuesday
From fundamentals to high-level insights, Tuesdays offer a range of learning experiences.
Prepare Like A Pro – 5:30 PM
How do the pros train for tournaments? From deep opening preparation to middle game ideas, learn how to best equip yourself for competition.

Adult Beginner’s Class – 6:30 PM
Learn all the rules and fundamentals to start your journey with confidence.
Taught by: An STLCC Instructor
Masters Class – 6:30 PM
Learn high-level chess tips from masters of the game in this advanced class geared toward experienced players.
Recommended rating level: 1800+ USCF

Wednesday
Wednesdays focus on mastering the mental game and creating a supportive community for women.
Grandmaster Psychology – 5:00-6:30 PM
Learn how GMs outplay opponents mentally and on the board.

Ladies’ Knight – 6:30 PM
Enjoy, play, and learn chess with a community of women who share a passion for the game. Open to women of all ages and skill levels. Taught by the WGM Thalia Cervantes

Thursday

Bughouse Night!
Dates: Jan 9, 23 & Feb 6, 20
Come solo or with a friend to learn and play this casual team-based variant of chess! Attendees will partner up to play against other teams and try to defeat a team with our Grandmaster in Residence.
Dragon Night – Opening Class and Tournament
Date: January 16 @ 5:30 PM
Dive into the Sicilian Dragon, then test your new skills in a mini-tournament.
Grandmaster Simul – GM Alex Yermolinsky
Date: January 30 @ 5:30 PM
Face off against GM Yermolinsky in a simultaneous exhibition.
Themed Opening Night (February)
Date: February 13 @ 5:30 PM
Explore another engaging opening (TBA) and put your learning into practice.
Friday
Fridays focus on sharpening tactics and competing in short, rated formats.
Friday Action Tactics Time – 4:00 PM
Sharpen your tactical skills with pattern recognition.
