Earn your chess merit badge online with the Saint Louis Chess Club, no matter where you are!

Description:
1.Increase your chess knowledge while working at a pace that fits your learning needs.
2.Connect with Scouts from all over the world.
3.Engage with certified chess merit badge instructors from our internationally recognized chess facility from the comfort of your home.
4.Learn about the scope of chess in the world today, find resources to improve your game, and find out about how you can participate in chess competitions, classes, and activities.
5.Each instructor will provide a weekly schedule that offers flexibility and details specific learning goals between lessons.
6. Earn your chess merit badge online!

Requirements: The workshop is free of cost to any scouts looking to fulfill the merit badge requirements. Basic knowledge of chess rules is strongly recommended. Home computer with microphone and camera required.

Be Prepared:

- Read, sign and submit the Digital Release Form when completing your registration.

- Visit LiChess.org to create your FREE online profile, share this with your merit badge counselor to enhance the online learning experience.

- Print the Chess Merit Badge Workbook to keep track of your progress at home.

Class times (Central Time - CST) - Sep 9th to 20th, 2024. Monday - Friday. 7-8 pm.

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.

POLICY ON RELATIONSHIPS AND INTERACTIONS WITH MINORS

The integrity of Saint Louis Chess Club’s relationship with minor players is paramount to the Chess Club’s educational mission and success. All individuals employed by or working under the direction or authority of the Saint Louis Chess Club are expected and required to maintain appropriate boundaries and relationships with minors (individuals under the age of 18 years) and are strictly prohibited from engaging in sexual misconduct, hazing and harassment.
