About Me

I am a Candidate Master and former Texas Scholastic Grade Champion, I also won 2nd place at nationals in my grade in 2018. An interesting fact about me is that it only took me one year to go from a 1200 to a 2000+ rated player.

Specialties

My speciality is in tactics, when I became a rated expert in a year it was the result of me binge solving tactics. However, with tactics you can better understand positional play overtime so I strongly believe that most of any player's time should go towards problem solving.

Playing Experience:

I've played all my life but only got very serious at age 16. At age 17 I won state and got 2nd at nationals, and at age 18 I crossed 2000 in rating and became a CM! Overall I have played in 350 lifetime tournaments and I continue to be an active player.

Teaching Method:

I like to analyze my students' games and then assign homework in the fields that went wrong. We will also look to improve your opening repertoire, and tactical vision.
