A total of 78 players turned out for the 2013 Thanksgiving Open at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis. The event featured several titled players incluidng GM Fidel Corrales Jimenez, WGM Anna Sharevich, IM Priyadharshan Kannappan, IM David Recuero Guerra and many more.

The most recent of our quarterly Boy Scout Merit Badge workshops took place on Sunday, November 10. On this Sunday in particular, 16 members from local Boy Scout troops signed on to learn the basics of the game of chess. They rolled up their doubloons and prepared to hoist sail on their maiden voyage aboard the USS CCSCSL. Or so I thought.

The 2013 Thanksgiving Satellite featured massive mating attacks, thrilling sacrifices and tearful upsets! A total of 39 participants competed, but only three would walk away with free entries to the 2013 Thanksgiving Open scheduled to be held later this month from Nov 30th through Dec 1st.

2-on-2 Team Championship

A total of 30 teams competed in the Chess Club’s 2-on-2 Team Championship. The field was bolstered by nine teams from a school that travelled all the way from Tennessee as well as four teams from Lindenwood University.
