GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, GM Viswanathan Anand, and GM Levon Aronian came into the 8th round in the top spot for first and ended Round 8 still in the top spot for first place. The only decisive game was GM Sergey Karjakin who was victorious over GM Wesley So in their game.

Over the course of nine rounds, these competitors will battle for $300,000 in prize money, points toward the Grand Chess Tour, and the coveted title of 2017 Sinquefield Cup Champion. OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.
