Saturday Night Blitz is a US Chess blitz-rated tournament held on selected Saturday evenings at the Saint Louis Chess Club. Players compete in a double-round Swiss System and play 10 games in one night.

Tournament Details

  • Format: Double-round Swiss System, 10 games.
  • Event time: 6:00–8:30 p.m.
  • Registration: Online registration closes at 5:30 p.m.
  • Time control: G/3 with a two-second increment; US Chess blitz-rated.
  • Entry fee: $15.
  • Prizes: $400 total prize fund: 1st $115; 2nd $75; 1st U2000 $75; 2nd U2000 $45; Top U1700 $45; Top U1500 $45.
  • Ratings: The higher of a player’s blitz and regular ratings is used for pairings and prize purposes.
  • Membership: Membership in both the Saint Louis Chess Club and United States Chess Federation is required to register. A Saint Louis Chess Club day pass may be purchased at the front desk on the day of the event.
  • Byes: No byes are available.
