The Saint Louis Chess Club is proud to again host the U.S. Senior Championship, U.S. Junior Championship, and U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship for 2025. All three tournaments are by invitation-only to showcase America’s past and upcoming chess phenoms, for newly increased prize funds across all three events! For the Senior Championship the purse is $100,000; for the Juniors Championship, $75,000; and for the Girls Championship, $50,000 in total prizes.
Closing out the tour will be the final two events held in the Chess Capital of America, Saint Louis, Missouri. The Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz will kickoff the events starting on August 9th. The third and final speed chess event, six tour players and four wildcards will fight for a prize fund of $175,000 as they aim to finish at the top of the tour standings. The format will see nine rounds of rapid action followed by eighteen rounds of blitz, for a total of 135 games spread across five days.
The ending tour stop and signature event of the GCT circuit, the Sinquefield Cup continues its traditional classical format. Hosted annually by the Saint Louis Chess Club with a $350,000 total prize fund, the strongest tournament on American soil will be the final opportunity for competitors to earn points in the 2025 Grand Chess Tour. This event will feature nine full-tour players and one wildcard player.
The 2025 Champions Showdown: Chess9LX returns with another exciting edition featuring top players from the United States. Fighting for a total prize fund of $150,000, the participants will each face off once during nine rounds of rapid Chess 960, also known as Fischer Random Chess, where all of the back-rank pieces are randomized.
The Saint Louis Chess Club is proud to host the 2025 U.S. Chess Championship and U.S. Women’s Chess Championship. These prestigious tournaments will feature the nation’s top players competing for the most coveted titles in American chess and a total prize fund of $402,000.
