2014 Summer Camps with Grandmaster Instructors

The Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis is a non-profit, educational organization that is committed to making chess an integral part of our community. Chess is a valuable educational tool that helps teach students important lessons including problem solving, critical thinking, sportsmanship, patience, and goal setting, just to name a few!

Over the past five years, we’ve partnered with more than 100 different classrooms and community centers across the Saint Louis area to spread the educational benefits of chess. In addition, we’ve developed national partnerships with organizations like the Boy Scouts of America to bring chess to thousands of students across the country.

Chess Summer Camps are the perfect way to introduce the game of chess to new students, deepen the understanding of the game for established players or offer intensive instruction for aspiring chess masters.

Grandmaster instructors and other qualified staff will walk students through algebraic notation, proper piece and board set-up, chess clock usage (timers), basic tactics (forks, skewers, pins, double attacks, double check, en passant, x-ray, etc.), positional chess, development, advanced strategy/tactics and endgame skills.

Enrollment fee is $400 per student for the full day option, or $200 for either of the half-day plans.

[A 10% early registration discount will apply for those registered before May 1, so right now camps are just $360/full day option or $180/half day!]
