Composer Spotlight Series: Mozart

Registration is closed for this event

Join the World Chess Hall of Fame as we present the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. One of the most beloved and influential composers of all time, Mozart contributed a vast body of work to Western music. His symphonic, operatic, choral, and chamber music output is regarded as the finest of the artform and holds an important place in performance venues worldwide. This concert will feature Mozart’s music for woodwinds and piano, in particular his quintet in E flat major, K.452. Completed on March 30, 1784 and premiered just two days later at the Royal National Court Theater in Vienna, Mozart said of the work in a letter to his father, “I myself consider it to be the best thing I have written in my life.”

This performance will feature members of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra: Philip Ross, oboe; Diana Haskell, clarinet; Vincent Karamanov, bassoon; Chris Dwyer, French horn; Kelly Karamanov, piano.
