[imagefield_assist|fid=3646|preset=frontpage_200x200|lightbox=true|title=|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=200|height=200]James "the James Game" Miller was more than just a regular to the club. His outgoing personality and friendly demeanor made him an easily approachable opponent and a joy to play against.
James had the ability to make you smile whether you were winning or losing, and his one-liners were a constant source of amusement for members and staff alike. On Saturday, the Chess Club lost not just one of our most loyal members, but also a part of our family.
The unique brand of chess he brought to the club on a daily basis earned him the nickname, "the James Game," characterized by his uncharacteristic openings that could, at times, stymie his opponents. He liked the idea of forcing people out of their element by presenting them with challenging and unfamiliar positions.
His upbeat personality and cheery disposition were infectious. James had the ability to brighten the room when he would walk in, and his presence at the club will be sorely missed.
Join us in remembering James Miller and celebrating his life this Saturday. The viewing will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, and the service will take place right afterwards from 10-11:30 a.m that same day. The services will be held at Saint Andrew's Missionary Baptist Church, located at 11309 Larimore Road, Saint Louis, MO 63138.
Please come out to show his family your support and remember "the James Game."
