On Sunday, January 20, the Saint Louis Chess Club hosted its New Year’s Fray scholastic chess tournament. It was the 4th tournament of the Grand Prix series and the first tournament of 2019. Despite the snowy weather and freezing temperatures, 201 players braved the elements and gathered at Cook Hall on the SLU campus once again to see who would come out on top.
