The 2015 U.S. Chess Championships Opening Ceremony at the Saint Louis Art Museum

Join us for the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 U.S. Chess Championships on Tuesday, March 31 at the Saint Louis Art Museum.

The Opening Ceremony will begin Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. with a cocktail hour, followed by opening remarks from several special guests, including CCSCSL founder Rex Sinquefield and St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay. Inductions will be made to both the U.S. and World Chess Halls of Fame, and 24 of America’s finest players will be introduced in the 2015 Drawing of Lots, unfolding the exciting schedule of the upcoming event.

Coryea Sweeps February Knights; March Registration Open

February’s inclement weather resulted in an unusually high number of half-point bye requests in the early rounds of February’s Wednesday Knights Tournament -- thought it wasn’t enough to stop Knights regular Daniel Coryea (1800), who braved the conditions each week to collect a perfect 4/4 score.

Record Turnout for Metro Class Championship

Last weekend’s beautiful weather encouraged a record number of participants to come play in the 7th Annual Metro Class championship -- a 60-player field divided into six rating sections. The winner of each class was guaranteed $250 and the title of class champion, but players were offered extra incentive to fight for a perfect 3/3 score for an additional $50 bonus.
