Grandmaster JJ Ali Marandi recaps Round 9 and the playoffs of the Superbet Chess Classic live from the Grand Hotel Bucharest, the 5th Superbet Chess Classic is the second of five legs of the Grand Chess Tour. The nine Tour players are joined by a wildcard (pairings below) for a classical round robin.

Fabiano Caruana, Praggnanandhaa, Gukesh D, and Alireza Firouzja tied for 1st after regulation. They played a rapid round robin. In the third and final round of the playoff, Caruana only had to score to win the event. If he lost, a winner in the other pairing could force an armageddon game.

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.

All individuals employed by or working under the direction or authority of the Saint Louis Chess Club are expected and required to maintain appropriate boundaries and relationships with minors and are strictly prohibited from engaging in sexual misconduct, hazing and harassment.
