The 2018 Saint Louis Rapid & Blitz will feature all nine of the 2018 Grand Chess Tour Players with GM Leinier Dominguez for the wildcard totaling 10 Players. This will be a three day Rapid Rounds, two day Blitz Rounds with a cash prize of $150,000.00. Live Commentary provided by GM Yasser Seirawan, GM Maurice Ashley, and WGM Jennifer Shahade.

With the Rapid Games behind the Grand Chess Tour Players, Day one of the Blitz Rounds proved to be wild and game changing for who stays on top. At the end of Blitz Round 9, Hikaru Nakamura and Shakhriyar Mamedyarov are in the lead with Fabiano Caruana and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave are close behind in second and third place.

OUR MISSION It is the mission of the Saint Louis Chess Club, an educational organization, to maintain a formal program of instruction to teach the game of chess and to promote and support its educational program through community outreach and local and national partnerships to increase the awareness of the educational value of chess.
