I thought if Anand could score 1.5-0.5 in those two games and have a two game lead with five to go, the match would be virtually over, but it was not to be, as Topalov held tight in two close games, both Catalans.
The last five games of the match will be quite exciting, as both players have shown great fighting spirit, especially Topalov, who seems to be willing to sacrifice with either color for active play.
Both games were well-played so although the material was unbalanced throughout both games, nobody ever seemed to have a large enough edge to do anything concrete.
The seventh game had an interesting start as Former World Champion Anatoly Karpov played bthe ceremonial first move.
Also of note, Former FIDE President Florencio Campomanes died today at the age of 83. "Campo" was a great figure in chess over the last 30+ years, most famous (infamous?) for stopping the World Championship Match after game 48 between Karpov-Kasparov, 1984-1985.
