By Tony Chen, Scholastic Coordinator
As the summer heat dissipates and the fall breeze floats through, students go into full-on school mode as every school is in session. Even during these hectic times of homework and sports, 160 dedicated chess players congregated on September 22 at Gateway Middle School to battle for chess supremacy. With the Grand Prix starting next month, the Back-To-School Bash was the perfect opportunity for players to get use to the finalized sections and awards. After 4 grueling rounds, the individual and team winners were determined below.
The Saint Louis Chess Club would like to thank all the players, parents, coaches, and community partners that make our monthly tournaments a success. Please join us next month for our October tournament, Halloween Havoc, on Saturday, October 13 at Lafayette High School.
