Rodney Vaughn started the New Year with a successful tournament that clinched a spot in the 2012 Knights Championship. In 2011, it took Rodney nine attempts to qualify.

Rodney's 4-0 performance netted him a $50 Gift Certificate to the Chess Club. Never resting on his laurels, he plans on putting it toward lessons with Resident Grandmaster Ben Finegold.

Dan Coryea and Neil Schechter each won a $35 Gift Card for their performances, and they each purchased chess books.

Sean Malone scored a 364-point upset to gain a free entry into a 2012 Knights tourney. An almost-once-in-a-lifetime chance awaits next month as there will be five Wednesdays in February. Don't miss out! The entry is just $10 for five exciting games of chess.
