The chess elite mixed with local dignitaries Thursday night at the Missouri History Museum to commence the 2011 U.S. Championship and U.S. Women’s Championship. The 24-player field also conducted some business – drawing lots to decide the colors and pairings of their games over the next fortnight.

3) A simultaneous exhibition (20 boards) with World #8 Hikaru Nakamura

Twenty-five students from McGrath Elementary visited the club on Thursday the

11th and a whopping sixty-three students on Saturday the 12th from Immaculate

Conception of Dardenne. 

 

Students enjoyed a variety of interactive activities while at the CCSCSL, including

chess lectures with GM Ben Finegold, simultaneous play, blitz play, and free

play. Participating students enjoyed a pizza lunch and received “I played a GM”
