On Day 5 of The American Cup 2023, Fabiano Caruana and Levon Aronian played a two-game rapid (G/25+10) elimination match. If tied 1-1, they would play a two-game rapid G/10+2 playoff. If tied 2-2, they would play a two-game blitz (G/3+2) playoff. If tied 3-3, they would decide it in a single armageddon (5v4) game. This is the match as it aired.
