Brad Schlosser will Serve as the MO Representative for the 2009 Arnold Denker Tournament of High School Champions

 Brad Schlosser, of Chesterfield, Mo., will represent Missouri at the 2009 Arnold Denker Tournament of High School Champions.

The national tournament will run from Aug. 1 to Aug. 4 in conjunction with the U.S. Open in Indianapolis, Ind.

Brad, a student at Parkway Central High School, earned his invitation to the prestigious tournament by winning the Denker Playoff with a score of 3.5 out of 4 in March. 

Personal pride and five $2,200 scholarships are at stake, and all of us at the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis wish Brad the best of luck.

July Knights - standings and unofficial round 3 pairings

Welcome! One of the regularly-posted items will now be the running wallcharts and pairings for the Knights Series tournaments. For those of you who aren't familiar, the Knights Series are standard time control (G/90) tournaments that occur one round per week on Wednesday nights. Over the course of a month, the participants have played a 4 or 5 round tournament.

Students Play Chess in the Championship Venue

Students from two St. Louis schools that utilize the "Classroom Chess" curriculum developed by the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis experienced the thrill of playing chess at the same tables in the same room where the 2009 U.S. Chess Championship was contested.  The games were played on the off day of the nine-round tournament.
